British Born Soprano

Sara’s love of singing blossomed from a young age, when she joined a local amateur dramatics company at 6 years old. Her voice developed ahead of her years, and this saw her singing solo in Ex Cathedra Choir’s performance of Dido And Aeneas at the tender age of 13. At 15 years old Sara was competing against adults in Open Oratorio and Open Opera classes in regional competitions and winning awards. At 16 years old Sara was awarded a music scholarship to the highly prestigious Solihull school, and from there went on to study Vocal and Operatic studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, under the direction of Marilyn Rees.

Along her musical journey Sara has sung under the baton of notable directors such as John Rutter, Howard Goodall, Jeffrey Skidmore and Nigel Short. She has also undertaken coaching, and Masterclasses with Emma Winscom, Dame Janet Baker, Adrian Pike, Dame Felicity Lott, and Catherine Wyn-Rogers to name a few. Sara now takes lessons with Christine Cairns, Scottish International Mezzo Soprano.

Sara has sung with many ensembles and groups over the years including Chandos, Eton Choral Course Choirs, National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Midland Opera Co, Great Witley Opera Co, and Infitine Opera Co, and now runs her own professional ensemble; Encanto Vocal Quartet.

She has sung as a freelance Soprano soloist in many oratorios, recitals and theatre productions with the likes of Armonico Consort, Ex Cathedra Consort and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her engagements have taken her up and down the country, appearing on radio, TV and cinema broadcasts, recordings, and in concert for choral societies, cathedral choirs, the RSC, and at weddings and corporate functions.

In 2016 Sara sang in her first professional opera role as ‘Carmen’ in Bizet’s Carmen. Since then she has also sung many opera roles in concert/non-staged performances such as Susanna, and Mimi.

Sara thoroughly enjoyed performing in Infinite Opera Company’s spooky triptych (opera in 3 parts) ‘Besse’ over the course of 2019. She looks forward to continuing to build her operatic and concert portfolio.

Sara de Visser - Singing Lessons in Birmingham, UK

“Sara teaches the children at my school. Not only do they all love going to her lessons but they always return BUZZING about what they’ve learnt and importantly want to share it. She’s superb, a real talent. Listen to her!”

Emma Dowling, Parent

“Thank you for a phenomenal night! You truly showed your level of skill tonight.”

Zachary Andel, Circus Mash

“Sara has been teaching my child to sing once a week for over a year. I can hear a big difference and he is level 3 at reading music. She is very good with kids. My son loves his lessons. I do not hesitate to recommend her.”

Shamim Khaliq, Parent

“Sara has a voice of an angel and completed our wedding ceremony by singing for our guests whilst we signed the register. She was mesmerising and reduced some of our guest to (happy) tears! She is professional and organised and in my opinion a must have for any wedding. Thank you!”

Sara Scanlan, Bride

“Wow, what can I say? There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Thanks very much for your beautiful singing at our wedding”

Micheal Roberts, Groom

“Sara is a fantastic and talented singer with a great voice and a stunning personality. Very professional and respectful. Good understanding of performance and giving a positive vibe to the audiences. As a Muzikstan organiser, we were so delighted to have her at our world music event in April 2019.”

Zirak Hamad, Muzikstan Organiser

“You could hear a pin drop in the church the guests were so captivated by your singing….Thank you for adding something special to the wedding service”

Charlotte Constantinou, Bride

“Thank you so much for arranging the flash mob at Charlotte’s wedding reception – from help choosing the song, coordinating with the band, sending out the words to arranging the clandestine rehearsals! Couldn’t have done it without you – it was fab!”

Michelle Sutton, Mother of the Bride

“Experienced, knowledgeable and friendly singing teacher – Sara has really helped me to build both my confidence and technique. Highly recommend!”

Liz Read, Private Student

“Your singing was just heavenly! Several people asked if it was a recording as they didn’t see you up in the church balcony. Thank you for really making our ceremony complete”

Ann-Marie Tiplady, Bride

“Sara is a soprano with a set of skills to be jealous of. She doesn’t just have an amazing clear-cut voice, she is also a committed, hard-working singer with a great presence onstage and a great range of vocal and theatrical expression.
In addition, she is a very clever workshop and choir leader that gets the best of everybody with a clear understanding of the situation and an ability to set realistic high goals that work in benefit of the group. Looking forward to work more with her in the near future!”

Dani Blanco Albert

“A newcomer to the Society, Sara was excellent in the role of Carmen.”

Trevor Guest, National Operatic and Dramatic Association

She helped me find the voice I never knew I had.

Ruth, Private Student

“The journey of Carmen herself sung by professional Sara, was highly credible in her love of and subsequent rejection of Don Jose, sung by Robert Forbes. She is even assertive when she is being tied up by the officers halfway through...”

Lucas Ball, Worcester News
